Noël’s Wine Exploration

Noël Vanwittenbergh Unveils the Secrets

of Signature Wines

Hotel Okura Amsterdam invites wine enthusiasts to uncover the secrets of signature wines with Noël’s Wine Exploration. Under the expert guidance of Honorary Gastronomy Sommelier Noël Vanwittenbergh from Ciel Bleu Restaurant, guests will discover how a single grape variety, shaped by history and terroir, transforms into unique expressions across different countries. From its birthplace to culinary traditions, Noël reveals the characteristics that give each bottle its unique taste. Noël’s Wine Exploration is an unforgettable journey that will forever change the way the guest experiences wine.

The tasting sessions will take place every three weeks on Wednesdays from 19:30 PM to 21:30 PM in the elegant setting of the Lobby Bar at Hotel Okura Amsterdam.

Over the course of three months, this carefully curated tasting experience will unveil the nuances of wine flavours in an unparalleled way. Each session follows the journey of a grape — from its origin to the various countries where it has evolved — demonstrating how climate, soil, and culture influence its taste.

In the first session, guests can look forward to the refined flavours of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties.

"Through this exploration, we highlight the versatility of these grape varieties. We don’t just taste wine—we travel with it," says Noël Vanwittenbergh. "Every bottle tells the story of its land, its people, and its traditions. By understanding these elements, we reveal the true character of the wine."

Noël’s Wine Exploration delves into two grape varieties through six carefully selected wines from different countries. The culinary bites, curated by Executive Chef Michel Westerman of the Main Kitchen, are inspired by the gastronomic traditions of each wine region. These flavourful pairings enhance the stories Noël shares, making the journey even more immersive.
