Walking challenge homewalk

Sore feet, pulling each other through, and persevering—this is what the HomeWalk team from Hotel Okura Amsterdam will face this weekend. It is, of course, nothing compared to the perseverance of sick children and their parents. So, the team does not complain. Everyone participates wholeheartedly in the walking challenge of the Ronald McDonald Kinderfonds.

We are taking part in this 24-hour walk for the second year in a row to raise as much money as possible to bring families with a sick child together in the Ronald McDonald houses, living rooms, and vacation homes. In the end, we will have 120 kilometers on our legs. But what we are most proud of is the sponsorship money. We have nearly doubled our goal and surpassed last year’s results. That is more than great news.

Our deep gratitude goes to our corporate sponsors: Kwast Wijnkopers, laundry and linen rental G. van der Kleij & Zn. bv., Hazet, Moët Hennessy, Kikkoman, DEV real estate, Versvishandel Jan van As, ACS audiovisual solutions, EW Facility Services, Hanos Horeca Groothandel. Of course, we are equally grateful for the individual donations.

To achieve this, the Okura HomeWalk team organized many activities to raise even more money. Personal talents were utilized, for example, with the sale of artisanal ice cream by the patisserie team. The support of our colleagues, friends, and family has been as inspiring as it has been motivating for the Okura HomeWalk team!
