Hotel Okura Amsterdam treats guests to exclusive pastries for the festive Season

Pop-up Pastry - Festive Season in the lobby of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, open from November 28 to December 24.

Amsterdam, November 28, 2024 – Hotel Okura Amsterdam introduces the festive season with the opening of the Pop-up Pastry - Festive Season, highlighting artisanal pastries as one of the many crafts the hotel is renowned for. Following the overwhelming success of the summer edition, this second edition of Pop-up Pastry is entirely dedicated to the festive season. The festively styled pop-up, adorned with twinkling lights, is located in the lobby of the hotel and offers a wide selection of exclusive treats with a refined Japanese touch.

The Pop-up Pastry - Festive Season is open daily from November 28 to December 24, featuring a selection of festive creations, including delicate pastries, macarons, madeleines, chocolate truffles, and matcha cookies. Each item is a festive delight, as exquisite as delicious. Accompanied by a card inspired by the Japanese Shinto tradition, make these exclusive pastries the perfect holiday gift.

“The Pop-up Pastry left us wanting more! That’s a huge compliment and inspired us to create this festive edition. This end-of-year project is our cherry on top, allowing us to pour all our creativity and passion into it. Each item is carefully crafted and embodies omotenashi – heartfelt Japanese hospitality,” explains Executive Chef Iiro Heinila.

Enriched with a Japanese Touch
Highlights include the Matcha Tartelette, blending pistachio and cranberry, and the Festive Choux with hazelnut praline. Guests can also indulge in the Okura Festive Tablet, made with Valrhona chocolate and seasonal spices, or macarons with unique flavours such as Japanese whisky and caramelized apple.

Custom-Order Cakes
Specially for Christmas, the Santa Cake and Christmas Ornament Pastry are also available as cakes for 10 people, exclusively by pre-order. Orders can be placed until December 18 for pickup on December 23 or 24.

Pop-up Pastry - Festive Season is open daily from November 28 to December 24, welcoming guests in the hotel lobby from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
